A nice surprise: The other day I was waiting for my daughter to come out of Brownies so I picked up a local Worthing magazine and started to lazily browse through it. Wow! There in front of my eyes was a logo I had created for the Active Age Newsletter! It looked stunning.

Active Age is a newsletter about what’s going on in Worthing for over 60s who enjoy being active, either physically, mentally or both. It is produced quarterly by Worthing Community Partnership (website by White Ochre Design) and can be accessed on their website www.worthingcommunitypartnership.co.uk

Next time you are on Facebook, check out The Mumpreneurs Networking Club’s new timeline and click on the Gossip Tab. This will really inspire you to network online by promoting yourself and others. It’s so much fun and fulfills that all important task of spending time each day on your own business (or so I’m told!). The sales lady (and she is SO much more than a sales lady!), Dawn Gracie once told me that you should spend at least 45 minutes every day on your own business. For my company I tend to spend all my time on other people’s businesses so this is a great way to promote myself and support my clients, fellow mumpreneurs and friends.

Spring is here and with it the New Harbour Park Website is live!

NEWS FLASH Harbour Park in Littlehampton have a brand new website which launched on Monday 19th March – just in time for spring and the Easter holidays. White Ochre Design worked closely with the team at Harbour Park on web layout designs and graphics for the web and for Harbour Park merchandise. We are so excited about this project and thrilled to see it online. Shopping cart software, website and hosting by Identivue Limited. There are lots of new features such as an online store to purchase your Harbour Park annual pass and ride tickets plus LOTS of photos and ride graphics to get you excited about visiting Harbour Park this spring and summer. A little bit of French fashion, art and style

I recently worked on a project for a graphic designer, Wendy Barratt, who designed the logo, overall look and feel, layout and navigation and then hired me to build the website. The result is a beautiful and classy website for a fashion stylist who lives and works in Paris. It is a portfolio site that showcases her work through slideshows, and includes a video. White Ochre designed a logo and flyers for Teenie Tigers pre-school gymnasticcs. This was a fun project that involved lots of drawing; logo created in illustrator, flyers created in InDesign.

We are very busy here at White Ochre HQ and trying to get ready for Christmas as well – this is no small feat in a household full of youngsters (and oldies) excited about the holidays.

Goodbye Better Days Out

After many years of running a very useful and popular website (I created Better Days Out from scratch in 2003), I will be closing down Better Days Out www.betterdaysout.co.uk in January 2012. The time has come to move on, to focus on my core business, White Ochre Design and my writing (now that I am a published author!).

I would love to keep Better Days Out website online and running but unfortunately I do not have the funds to keep it going nor do I have the time to keep it updated with current and fresh content. I am sad about this and feel very guilty – from the emails I’ve had and the stats, and also from the incoming links from sites like the BBC and Mumsnet, i know that thousands of people have found Better Days Out to be a useful and important resource for them. I hate that I have to close down this wonderful resource, but it is impossible for me to keep it going on my own anymore.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to Better Days Out and helped me, over the years, to keep it online. Paul Emmerson – Management Lessons

There are some design jobs that are incredibly interesting and rewarding once they are completed. I recently worked on an educational workbook and have finally seen the end-product. Management Lessons by Paul Emmerson. It’s amazing seeing the printed version of what I’d been working so hard on -on screen only. My jobs were typsetting and graphic design.

Paul Emmerson.com has also had some new features added on and a bit of a re-design by White Ochre Design. The online shop and web build is by Pixel by Pixel web design. I love that Paul has found the best people for each specific job and I thoroughly enjoyed working on his design project.

Coming soon from Paul Emmerson…. another website for students called BEhereBEthere.com. There is no stopping us now!
